Lyla Hoffine was born in 1897 near Highland, Wisconsin and died in 1984 in Tucson, Arizona. She had written six children's books, and "because of her skills as a writer of children's books," as well as those in researching "Indian lore, she was asked to participate in the Midwest Program on Airborne Television Instruction at Purdue University, Lafayette, IN."
