Holmes, Israel
Israel Holmes joined the British Naval Franklin Search Expedition, 1852-1854 (leader William Pullen), as able seaman in HMS North Star, the store ship for the British Naval Franklin Search Expedition, 1852-1854 (leader Sir Edward Belcher). In August 1853, Harvey transferred to the supply ship HMS Phoenix, which had arrived at Beechey Island with more supplies for Belcher's squadron, and returned to England.
