Charles Manley Brown, better known as Charlie Brown, was the son of Charles Manley Brown and Mamie Susan Fickett. A civic leader and businessman, Brown had a long political career, holding offices of Fulton County Commissioner, Senator of Georgia, member of the House of Representatives of Georgia, and having been a candidate for mayor of Atlanta, Georgia. He also served as president of the Atlanta Kiwanis Club and the president of West End Businessmen's Association while being a member of many other organizations. He was president of Fickett-Brown Manufacturing Company, successors to Fickett Manufacturing Company which wa Brown's maternal grandfather's company. The company manufacutred mops. A native of Atlanta, Brown attended Tech High (Atlanta, GA.) and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA.), granduating in 1925. He was married to Elsie Anderson.
