Luce, Claire, 1901-1989.
American actress and dancer, Luce began her career as a dancer in musical revues and comedies. After a leg injury, she turned to acting on stage, in film, and on television. She was the first American to play leading roles at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre at Stratford-on-Avon. Luce also taught acting at New York University.
