Kurth, Burton O. (Burton Oliver)

Burton O. Kurth was an English professor at the University of Victoria. His father, Burton Lowell Kurth (d. 1977), was an organist and choirmaster in Winnipeg, and the Supervisor of Music for Vancouver schools 1938-1955. Burton L. Kurth was also a collector of books and had an abiding interest in modernist English and American writing. Among his Winnipeg friends was the Canadian writer William Arthur Deacon.
