Lady Marilyn "Cissie" Qualls McLeod was born in 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Carroll Allen. Her grandfather was Austin A. Nelson, the first director of the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District. In 1962, Cissie Allen married William Lasater "Bill" McLeod, Jr., who was later a state legislator and district judge. The McLeods had three daughters, Sara, Ruth and Martha.
