In 1875 Alfred Solano became associated with surveyor George Hansen (1824-97), assisting him in the making of surveys of various tracts in Los Angeles County and in other parts of Southern California. Hansen served as Los Angeles city surveyor from 1863 to 1868, and in 1883. After Hansen's death in 1897, his records were left to Solano, who became a parter of Sidney B. Reeve, also a surveyor, with an office in Los Angeles.
