Langston family.
Langston family members were active as lawyers and landowners in Wayne County, N.C., and Johnston County, N.C., since at least the 1820s. Uriah Langston owned land in both counties and was a member of the North Carolina State Militia. He may also have been a lawyer. Ira Langston practiced law in Bentonville, N.C., and served on the school commission and as an elections official. He was a member of the Democratic Party and also of a Freemason lodge.
