Rising, Henry, 1869-1939
Henry Rising graduated in 1889 from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA with a degree in civil engineering. He settled in Spokane in 1890, where he taught school and worked as a printer until 1892, when he joined the editorial staff of the Spokane Spokesman . Rising became a reporter for the Spokane Chronicle in 1893, City Editor in 1894, Editor in 1897, and Editor and president in 1923.
