Hayes, Edward M.

Edward M. Hayes was an electrical engineer for United Airlines during the second half of the twentieth century, where he worked on the Douglas DC-8 airliner during the late 1950s. He was also involved with the United States Supersonic Transport Program during the 1960s, serving as its chairman of the Electrical System Committee and as secretary of the general program. The objective of the United States Supersonic Transport Program was to determine if the United States should build a supersonic transport aircraft similar to the Anglo-French Concorde.
