Margaret Fikioris was textile conservator at Winterthur Museum. She was part of a movement within ICOM to establish a national committee in the United States to coordinate disaster planning and response teams. She has written books and articles and given many lectures on the subject of textile conservation. She was a member of a number of conservation groups. Among her interests was documenting the design sources for window treatments, bed dressings, and upholstery from 1600 to 1850. Margaret was married to Dimitrios Fikioris.
