Pat Corrigan is a successful businessman in the freight forwarding industry, having founded and run a number of freight companies. He opened Corrigan Express in 1967, building it into an international operation which he sold in 1972. He went on to found the Australian Perishable Freight Forwarding Association then Pace Express in 1989. Pat sold Pace Express to Air Express International in 2000, allowing him time to pursue a number of consultancies, Non Executive Directorships and in particular dedicate more time to his passion for contemporary art. He is an avid art collector, serving as patron for twelve years of the NAVA Visual and Craft Artists' Grant Scheme. He is Chairman of both the Gold Coast City Art Gallery and its Foundation, and a Partner with the New England Regional Art Gallery. Pat Corrigan's contribution to Australian cultural life was formally acknowledged in 2000 when he was made a Member in the Order of Australia and in 2007 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Bond University.
