Salmon, John, 1797-1883
Salmon was born in England, immigrated to the U.S. in 1818, and settled near Jeffersonville, Ind., keeping a store across the Ohio River in Louisville, Ky. He married Wilhelmenia Neef, daughter of Pestalozzian educator Joseph Neef.
