Claiborne, Sybil
Pacifist, feminist, author, and teacher, Sybil Claiborne was one of the organizers of Women's Pentagon Action, a peace group that grew out of a conference entitled Women and Life on Earth, held in Amherst, Mass., in 1980. She was also active in the Women's Encampment for a Future of Peace and Justice, held in Seneca Falls, N.Y., in 1983, and is a longtime member of the War Resisters League. A novelist and short story writer, Claiborne teaches at Eugene Lang College at the New School for Social Research in New York City.
