Ubbe Eert Iwwerks, also known as Ub Iwerks (born March 24, 1901, Kansas City, Missouri-died July 7, 1971, Burbank, California), American animator, cartoonist, character designer, inventor, and special effects technician, who designed Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and co-created Mickey Mouse with Walt Disney. Iwerks produced alongside Walt Disney and won numerous awards, including multiple Academy Awards.
