Shafer, Luman J. (Luman Jay), 1887-1958
Variant namesShafer graduated from Rutgers University in 1909 and from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1912. He was licensed and ordained a minister by the Reformed Church in America in 1912. Shafer served as a missionary to Japan from 1912-1935. He was secretary of the Board of Foreign Missions from 1935-1955.
