Timp Haven Ski Resort flourished under the direction of Ray and Paul Stewart and their partner, Junior Bounous. In 1969, the resort was sold to Robert Redford who renamed it Sundance.

Raymond R. Stewart (1910-1995) was a Mormon businessman in Utah.

Raymond Riggs Stewart was born on August 5, 1910 in Provo, Utah to Scott Pease and Myrtle Maiben Stewart. He attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. He was known by many as the "Father of Skiing" in Utah County. He pioneered, designed, and constructed Timp Haven Ski Resort (now known as Sundance). He also taught skiing at local resorts and participated in ski races. Stewart organized the Civilian Defense Ski Corp for Mountain Rescue during World War II. Stewart was a member of the Wasatch Mountain Club and Timpanogos Mountain Club. He also enjoyed traveling and spent time in Mexico, Canada, Japan and Europe.

Stewart was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Ava Beckstrand on November 13, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple, and they had four children. In his later years he and his wife served a mission for the Church in Manchester, England. Stewart died from Parkinson's disease on November 4, 1995 at his home in Orem, Utah.

Ava Beckstrand Stewart (1913-2006) was a Mormon businesswoman and nurse in Utah.

Ava Beckstrand was born February 13, 1913 in Meadow, Utah, the sixth child of Heber William and Mary Elizabeth Stewart Beckstrand. She attended schools in Meadow and Delta, Utah and graduated from Millard County High School in 1931. She then worked in Salt Lake City, where she met Raymond Riggs Stewart. They were married on November 13, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple, and had four children. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho; and Ogden, Salt Lake, American Fork, Provo, and Orem, Utah. Her husband Ray developed the Timp Haven Ski Resort, and she was responsible for Ava's Lunch Stand. Ava also graduated from Utah Technical College of Practical Nursing in 1961, and worked for local doctors in Orem until she retired. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served a mission to England with her husband, and worked in the Provo Temple baptistry. She was also a member of the Knittin' Club, Dancing Friends, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Orem Women's Club, and Yeshira Club. Stewart died December 18, 2006 in Orem, Utah.

Barbara Stewart Anderson was born on March 3, 1936 to Raymond Riggs Stewart and Ava Beckstrand Stewart. Her father, Raymond Riggs Stewart, founded the Sundance Ski Resort. She grew up in Provo, Utah. She was married to Howard Falconer Uibel and had three children, but they later divorced. She later remarried to Dale Anderson.

Anderson has been a teacher, librarian, and author. She has also been very active, participating in mountaineering, scuba diving, and travel.
