Lathrop, Henry Lee, 1849-1943

The son of Daniel and Desire Lee Lathrop, Henry Lee Lathrop was born in Norwich, Connecticut, on 1849 November 21. By 1860, he and his family had moved to Silver Creek in Chautauqua County, New York. Lathrop first appears in Texas in the 1880 census, residing in the Wise County town of Aurora. By 1900, he was living and working as a hardware dealer in Fort Worth. Lathrop eventually moved to San Antonio, where he died on 1943 October 3.

Henry Lathrop married Celia Washburn (1848-1930) around 1875. The couple had three children: Walter Washburn (born 1878), Alice Washburn (1880-1973), and a third child who died as a baby.
