Iowa City National Bank.

Hide Profile

In 1858 the Iowa legislature passed a banking law establishing a state bank. One of the bank's eight branches was established in Iowa City under the name State Bank in Iowa City, managed by Ezekiel Clark. After the national banking law went into effect in 1863 the Iowa City branch of the State Bank became the Iowa City National Bank. After a few years the name changed again to the Iowa City State Bank (1875?).
