Farquhar, John Hanson.

John Hanson Farquhar was appointed captain of the 19th Indiana Infantry on 14 May 1861 and was stationed at state headquarters in Indianapolis where he served as a recruiting and dispersing officer. In 1863 he was appointed brigadier general of the state militia. In July of that year Farquhar and his men responded to Morgan's invasion of Indiana. He resigned his commission on 9 August 1864 and went on to become a U.S. Congressman from Indiana from 1865-66.
