Publication of the Pastor's Desk Book began in November 1947. The Board of Publications was responsible for distributing it monthly and included information based on that received by the Office of the President. This publication was designed to inform the pastors of what was happening within the ULCA. Desk Book editors were: Carl E. Koppenhaver (May 1951- September 1955) and Robert R. Clark (October 1955-December 1962). The Pastor's Desk Book ceased publication in Decmeber 1962 with the ULCA merger to form the Lutheran Church in America (LCA). The LCA began publishing the Minter's Information Service in July 1963 for much the same purpose.
