Geri P. Renier's father was a helicopter pilot in the Army. She was born in Columbus when he was stationed at Fort Benning, left when she was a year old, came back when she was two and stayed until she was seven, and then came back when she was almost 15. After attending Army schools all over the world, Ms. Regnier graduated from Hardaway High School. She then came right across the creek to attend Columbus College. After graduation, Ms. Regnier worked for the State of Georgia as a case worker at the Department of Family and Children's Services for a little over five years. In 1978, she was hired as executive director of alumni affairs at Columbus College. In 1979, she returned to school to get her masters in business. She worked for alumni affairs until her retirement.
