Sánchez Garayo, Atilano.
Variant namesAttorney. Died circa 1878. Atilano Sánchez Garayo was admitted to the Mexican bar in 1812, and in 1817 was named chief notary of the Juzgado de Testamentos, Capellanías, y Obras Pías. He became a full member of the Colegio de Abogados in 1828. In 1844 he was made a voting member of the Junta de Minerías; in 1850, as its benefactors' legal representative, he published two pamphlets defending their interests against government encroachment. In 1854 Sánchez retired as chief notary and became administrator of the Fondo de Minería.
