Linford, John, 1808-1856.
John Linford was born Aug. 28, 1808 in England and immigrated to the United States on the ship "Thornton," in 1856. He started for Utah with the Willie Handcart Company and froze to death in Wyoming when the company was snowed in. His wife, Maria Bentley Christian, and three sons took the diary with them to Utah.
