Krummeich, Paul
Born in Germany, Krummeich (1886?-1965) studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Köln and University of Pennsylvania. He subsequently joined the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania as a lecturer on the aesthetics of music in 1925, was named assistant professor in 1927, and became an associate professor in 1935, a position he held until 1951. Of special interest to him were questions of aesthetics and the intersection of music and philosophy, as well as the composers Schubert, Brahms, Chopin, and Debussy. He was also active as a composer, mainly of songs in English and German.
