The New York World's Fair Commission, composed of House and Senate members and seven persons appointed by the Governor, was created (1963) to make arrangements for Illinois' participation in the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair. The Board of Economic Development executive director served as commission's secretary. Commission duties included site selection on the New York World's Fair grounds; building construction; and exhibit preparation. After a final report to the General Assembly (1966), the commission expired.
