Garfinkel, Harold
Biography
Garfinkel received a BS in economics from the University of Newark in 1939; MA in sociology, University of North Carolina, 1942; Ph.D in sociology, Harvard University, 1952; assistant professor (1954-57) and professor of sociology beginning in 1960, UCLA; received the Cooley-Mead Award of the Social Psychology Section of the American Sociological Association, 1995; wrote Studies in ethnomethodology (c1967).
