This small collection contains items from Mrs. J.F. Richardson's scrapbook; it centers around her Home Demonstration Club activities. Also included are materials from her work with the Parent-Teacher Association, Primrose Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Base Line Home Demonstration Club, in southwest Little Rock, Arkansas, for many years. She held various offices, including President of her local chapter and President of the Pulaski County Council of Home Demonstration Clubs. Home Demonstration Clubs, now known as Extension Homemakers Clubs, are coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The first such club in Arkansas was organized in Mabelvale (Pulaski County) in August, 1929.
