Arnold, J. M. (John Motte), 1824-1884
Variant namesIn 1828 the Stuckey family took up land near Marulan. They later sold this land and moved to Willie Ploma near Gundagai. Children of the family married into several of the Riverina run-owners' families e.g. Mitchells, Huons, Dights, etc.

Son of Joseph Arnold and Betsy Earl, born in Acra, Green County, New York, October 15, 1824; came to Michigan in 1839; licensed as an exhorter in Methodist church when eighteen. He attended Avon Academy in Rochester and became an itinerant minister. After serving several Detroit churches he opened a bookstore.On March 26, 1851, he married Hanna Elizabeth Roadway and they had four children. Arnold was a contributor to the N.Y. incorporater of the Bay View Campgrounds and active in the Sunday School Alliance. He died in Detroit, December 5, 1884.
