Trenton City Hospital founded in 1887; in 1902 the hospital changed its name to William McKinley Memorial Hospital; the hospital and its school of Nursing (Helene Fuld School of Nursing) expanded greatly in the 1950s, due to the benevolence of Leonhard Felix Fuld; as a tribute to his mother, changed its name to Helene Fuld Hospital in 1959; in 1972 renamed Helene Fuld Medical Center to reflect the broad range health care services, chiefly in homeopathic medicine, and its status as a teaching institution.
