Dodie Bellamy is an American novelist, nonfiction author, journalist and editor. Her work is frequently associated with that of Dennis Cooper, Kathy Acker, and Eileen Myles. Her book Cunt-Ups won the 2002 Firecracker Alternative Book Award.

Bellamy is one of the originators in the New Narrative literary movement of the early and mid 1980s, which attempts to use the tools of experimental fiction and critical theory and apply them to narrative storytelling. Bellamy has stated that she draws inspiration from Conceptual art and writing practices, including cut-ups (invented by Brion Gysin and popularized by William S. Burroughs) and generated texts.

Bellamy also directed the San Francisco writing lab, Small Press Traffic, and has taught creative writing at the San Francisco Art Institute, Mills College, University of California, Santa Cruz, University of San Francisco, Naropa University, Antioch University Los Angeles, San Francisco State University, California College of the Arts, and the California Institute of the Arts.

Bellamy grew up in Indiana and studied at Indiana University. She moved to San Francisco in the late 1970s.

Bellamy is bisexual. She was married to the bisexual writer Kevin Killian.
