McManus Flynn & Company.
The firm of McManus Flynn & Company was a labor contractor engaged to build locks 51 and 52 of the Schuylkill Canal at Felix Dam (between Reading and Leesport, Pa.) during the canal's enlargement in 1846. Typical of many canal-building firms, it was a small organization which employed many Irish immigrants.
