The Ad Hoc Study Group on Institute Information (ASGII) was created on February 8, 1995 at the direction of Dr. Albert Simone, president of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) from 1992-2007. Since the group was chaired by William J. Stratton, it was referred to as the "Stratton Committee." According to the report, ASGII was charged with studying RIT student satisfaction assessment RIT decision support systems An RIT integrated information system Oversight of RIT's institution research function For instance, the group was specifically charged with "Identify[ing] the information...required to assess and benchmark students' characteristics, needs, expectations, and satisfaction with their experience at RIT." ASGII's findings were published in final report on June 27, 1996.
