The CIC DC focused on education and the study of racial problems in DC and in the church. The CIC DC initiated the Faith of Millions radio program on WOOK in 1952. In the 1960s the CIC DC conducted studies of the working conditions and employment practices in diocesan churches and of the textbooks used in Catholic schools in DC. In 1976 CIC DC founder Justine Ward created a CIC DC scholarship fund when she donated $10,000 to the CIC DC. Since 1976 the CIC DC scholarship fund has provided tuition assistance to needy students at Sacred Heart and St. Augustine's. The CIC DC maintained the scholarship fund into the late 1990s.
