Board in Control of Student Publications was established to provide a University-wide organization that's responsible for providing and managing student generated printed media at the University of Minnesota. In addition, the Board was able to discontinue student publications for various reasons, including lack of funding. Publications oversaw by the Board included many short lived humor and literary magazines, as well as the University's student newspaper - the Minnesota Daily, and student yearbook - the Gopher . The Board's name was official changed to the Minnesota Daily Board of Directors in 1992/1993.
