Bloom, Roger

Hide Profile

Roger Bloom was a writer, friend and correspondent with Henry Miller, and a convicted bank robber. He was arrested when he was just twenty years old and spent thirty years in prison. Miller, along with other notable writers and literary celebrities, took notice of Bloom because of his talent as a writer, and apparent rehabilitated character. Many of Miller's friends took up Bloom's cause and helped to gain him parole. After his release Bloom moved to Chicago, and opened a barber shop.
