Holland, Mellor R.

Mellor Rodney Holland was born on 18 October 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He earned his D.D.S. degree in 1946 and his M.S.D. degree in 1950 from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Holland joined the faculty at the University in 1948 as a teaching assistant; he became an instructor in 1950. He was promoted to assistant professor, associate professor and professor, and in 1960, Dr. Holland was named assistant dean of the School of Dentistry. In 1963, he became acting dean of the School while Dean Bryce Crawford was on a six-month medical leave. Mellor R. Holland died on 16 April 2003.
