Nelson, Ralph T. (Ralph Thomas), 1902-1968
Variant namesRalph Thomas Nelson (b. June 19, 1902, Lebanon, Ind.-d. Oct. 1, 1968), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1928. His early assignments were with the Infantry in the U.S. and Hawaii. During World War II, he was a signal officer in Germany and Austria, serving with the 4th and 9th divisions of XV Corps, and as department signal officer of the 15th Army and U.S. Forces. In 1953 he returned overseas to serve with the 10th Corps and the 8th Army in Korea. He became commander of the Signal Corps Training Center in 1955 and later commanded the Army's Electronics Proving Ground;. He served as the Army's Chief Signal Officer from 1959 to 1962.
