Fäsi-Gessner, Conr., 1796-1870.
Conrad Fäsi-Gessner (1796-1870) was an engraver and amateur painter. He served as director for Zurich Hospital and published an illustrated pamphlet, Bilder von Thierquälereien (translated, Pictures of animal tortures) (Zurich, 1859), which protested cruelty to animals. He was also married to Maria Gessner, the granddaughter of Johann Caspar Lavater.
