C.D. Peacock & Co. (Chicago, Ill.)
C.D. Peacock & Co. was founded in1837 as the "House of Peacock" by Elijah Peacock. In 1889, the business came to be known as C.D. Peacock, after Charles D. Peacock, son of Elijah Peacock, who had assumed ownership. The company remained in the Peacock family until 1969, when it was sold to Dayton-Hudson Corp., and has had other owners subsequently. As of 2011, C.D. Peacock & Co. had several retail locations in the Chicago area.
