Denver Nevaar (original name: Francis Peter Ulmen) was born August 5, 1962. He grew up in Wis., attended a Catholic grade school, a public high school, a dramatic arts school, and a youth ministry before graduating from Northwestern College. On July 7, 1987 he legally changed his name to Denver Nevaar. After entering a bodybuilding contest in the Gay Games (1990), he met Sister X, a member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a nation-wide order of gay nuns. In 1991, Sister Who founded a chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in Denver, Colo. In 1992, he started a public access television show in Denver titled "Sister Who Presents ..." The show ran for 53 episodes, ending in 1994. In 1998 the show resumed in Billings, Mont. for 28 episodes.
