Martin, Edwin Thomas, 1905-1968.

Edwin T. Martin, author and educator, was born 2 June 1905 in Marshallville, Georgia, and died 22 January 1968 in Atlanta, Georgia.

He was educated at Emory University (B.A., 1928; M.A., 1929) and at the University of Wisconsin (Ph. D., 1942); taught American literature and other English courses at Emory University (1929-1968); and served in the Army Air Corps in the African-Sicily-Italy theater (1942-1945). He was the author of a book on the scientific work of Thomas Jefferson.
