Charles Albert Noble, 1867-1962, served as a Professor in the Dept. of Mathematics at the University of California from 1897-1937. He published mathematical papers on boundary values, differential equations, and the curve of concentration of a liquid solution, and also published widely on the teaching of mathematics in secondary schools, and the training of teachers of mathematics in California, Germany, France, and England. He was a founding member of the Kosmos Club, and a charter member of the Faculty Club at the University of California.
