Worcester Deluxe Diners Manufacturing Company
Variant namesWorcester Lunch Car and Carriage Company founded in 1906, Worcester, Mass.; name later changed to Worcester Lunch Car Company; built a total of 651 diners, many of which still exist in New England, noted for their high quality of work, hand-made wooden elements, and clerestory windows; company ceased operations in 1961 and assets purchased by Worcester Deluxe Diners Manufacturing Company, owned by Francis Van Slett. Plans were developed for a modernistic diner and construction started but it was never completed and company ceased operations late in 1961.
