Lexington and Edgefield Telegraph Company (Firm)
The Caughman Amateur Telegraph Line was established in Aug. 1889 to connect businesses in the towns of Delmar and Summit, S.C. In May 1893, operators W[illiam] H[enry] Hare, W.A. Hare, and A.S. Morgan agreed to lease their line to the Lexington and Edgefield Telegraph Company. The Lexington and Edgefield Telegraph Company connected the offices of Brook, Caughmans, Eargle, Morgan, and Summit.
