Costume designer, actor and playwright Noel Taylor (born Harold Alexander Taylor Jr.) was born in Youngstown, Ohio on Jan. 17, 1913.

His career took off in 1945, when he designed the costumes, scenery and props for Stravinsky's ballet performance of Firebird, after Marc Chagall's vision. Taylor went on to create costumes for over 100 stage shows, and even more for movies and television. For The teahouse of the August moon, Taylor received the George Jean Nathan award. Noel Taylor died in Los Angeles, in November 2010.
