Eve Norman was coordinator of the National Organization for Women's Western Region, as well as national treasurer. She first joined NOW in 1969, was coordinator of the Los Angeles NOW Speakers Conference (1971), served on the original California State Planning Council at the first Western Regional Conference (1971), and was chair of the By-Laws Committee at the California State Conference (1972). She was elected NOW California State Coordinator in 1972.
EN was appointed to the Los Angeles Mayor's Committee on Women's Rights, and to the California Attorney General's Task Force on Women's Rights, where she was sub-committee chair for Child Care and Development, and sub-committee chair for Women in Prison. She was a founding member and vice president of the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women, which was a coalition to solve the problem of rape.
