The N.S.W. Saw-mill and Timberyard Employees' Association was registered in N.S.W. in January 1902 and federated with the Amalgamated Timber Workers' Union in January 1916. In March 1918, when the Federal body changed its name it became the N.S.W. No. 1 Branch of the Australian Timber Workers' Union.
