Urban, George, 1914-1999

George Urban graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Kent State University in 1937 and taught secondary school in Ravenna Township before becoming the assistant editor of the magazine Industry Week . In 1942 he joined the military and retired in 1962 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 1965 he became the administrative assistant to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, with additional duties as assistant business manager and director of public events. During 1970 as the Director of Campus Events, he was appointed to the Commission on KSU Violence. In 1973 he served as secretary to trustees. Urban retired from Kent State University in 1983.
