Hide Profile

Jacob Miller was the son of Daniel A. and Clarissa Pond Miller. He was born in Quincy, Illinois, in 1835. The family moved to Carthage where they remained until the death of the Prophet Joseph Smith. They emigrated to Utah in 1848 and settled in Farmington. Miller married his first wife, Helen Mar Cheney, in 1858, and left on a mission to Salmon River, Idaho, shortly thereafter. He served another mission in 1875, this time to Australia. Miller taught school for ten years, was manager of the Farmington Co-op, served in several bishoprics, and was set apart as a patriarch in 1906. Jacob Miller died on 11 October 1911.
